Andrea Bastiani Archibald

Andrea Bastiani Archibald, PhD is a developmental psychologist, thought leader and board member. She works with purpose-driven brands to engage and further the well-being of their customers and stakeholders while advancing business objectives and driving social impact. Andrea speaks as an authority on child development, leadership, diversity and inclusion, the intersection of social, emotional and physical health, and cultural influences on youth. She is currently serving as both a psychologist and strategic advisor to two different educational technology start-ups: Tribal Planet, Inc. and TAG, and is delighted to join Silver Tree Consulting and Services.
Andrea was an executive at Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) for over 10 years, where she led the Research Institute and used such insights to advance the interests and needs of girls, drive the organization’s national strategy and the development of new partnerships, and integrate relevant, mission-based, digital solutions. She was the spokesperson for GSUSA, authored numerous program resources, and provided the child development expertise that continues to power the popular Raising Awesome Girls website.
Prior to joining GSUSA, Andrea was an assistant professor of psychology at Concordia College. Her work has been published in numerous academic volumes and peer-reviewed journals, and her expertise has earned her top-tier media appearances such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox News, CNN and NPR, and in such publications as the Washington Times, Fast Company, Mashable, Buzzfeed and Parents magazine.
Andrea completed her doctoral and postdoctoral training at Columbia University and was a recipient of a Mellon Fellowship in psychiatry and a Keck Foundation Research Fellowship in child development.
